Founder and President

CelestHealth Solutions, LLC was founded by Mark Kopta, Ph.D., H.S.P.P. He is Professor, Department of Psychology, at a private liberal arts university and served as Chairman of the Department for 18 years. Dr. Kopta has a private psychotherapy practice. He received his doctorate from Northwestern University.   Dr. Kopta

Dr. Kopta is a leading expert in adult psychotherapy research and the assessment of mental health, with numerous publications, including a book, a video, chapters in books, published articles, and scholarly paper presentations.  With regard to child and adolescent psychiatry, Dr. Kopta coauthored the book—Right Versus Wrong: Raising a Child with a Conscience (2000).He has coauthored articles on child/adolescent development and mental health published in psychiatry’s most influential journals.

He has served as a mental health consultant and a contributor for ABC News. His research and comments have been featured on network news and public television as well as in such publications as USA Today; U.S. News & World Report; Glamour; Self; Vogue; Health; Parents; Der Spiegel, the European news magazine; and Corriere Salute, the Italian news magazine.


The CelestHealth System was developed with great thanks to the directors and clinical staff at Johns Hopkins University Counseling Center, University of Minnesota Counseling and Consulting Services, and Harvard University Health Services. These pilot testing centers provided feedback that helped refine the system into what you see today.



Director of Research

Dr. OwenJesse Owen, PhD is the Director of Research for CelestHealth. He is an Associate Professor, Department of Counseling Psychology, University of Denver, and serves as Chair of the Department. Dr. Owen received his doctorate from the University of Denver.   

Dr. Owen is a leading expert in adult psychotherapy process and outcome research with over 100 publications, including a co-authored book on research designs in counseling (Research in Counseling; Heppner, Wampold, Owen, Thompson, & Wang, 2016). He is currently an Associate Editor for three top-tier journals, including Psychotherapy and Journal of Counseling Psychology. He also serves as a methodologist on several federally funded grants.
